(May 25) Join us for a round table discussion with leaders of the field as the tap community reflects on the history and founding of National Tap Dance Day in honor of the late Bill "Bojangles" Robinson. ATDF Artistic Director Tony Waag will also present rare & historic video footage from the ATDF archives.

Hudson River Park, Pier 45, Christopher Street/Hudson River

Led by ATDF Artistic Director Tony Waag, students of all ages join with the pros and celebrate National Tap Dance Day with this FREE outdoor public event. All participants perform the Shim Sham Shimmy (known to tappers all over the world as the national "anthem" of tap dance) at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Open jam sessions and special appearances by the Tap City Youth Ensemble as well as leading professionals in the field will fill out the afternoon festivities.
