“Broadway Tap Revival”

A walking tour of the Broadway Theater District featuring SEVEN historic Broadway theaters which hosted major productions during the tap dance renaissance.

Lunch Break (1 - 2pm)

Tap Treasures Tour Part Two (2 - 5pm)

“Radio City Music Hall”

A tour of the famous venue, tours have about 25 people each, starting about 15 minutes apart.

TAP TALKS with BRENDA BUFALINO

Monday, July 8 - Thursday, July 11, 2019 (12:30 - 1:30pm)

The Center for Flamenco Arts, 4 West 43rd Street, Suite 608 (between 5th & 6th Avenues, 8th Floor)

 

If you are enrolled in an Adult Residency you are welcome to join us for daily Tap Talks during the lunch break (12:30pm - 1:30pm) each day before or after your class. Be prepared & bring your own lunch.


Brenda Bufalino will curate Tap Talks during lunch with Adult Residency teachers Dianne Walker, Max Pollak, Thelma Goldberg, and Chloe Arnold. Discussions about the different artists philosophy and practice of improvisation, composition, music for dancers, and other pertinent topics. 
 
Ms. Bufalino will also give a talk on Spontaneous Composition, and she and Tony Waag, will show some video and discuss the development, philosophy and tours of the American Tap Dance Orchestra.

While you soak in the city's skyline, enjoy meeting the Tap City staff, faculty and your fellow students! There's something aboard for everyone with live music, entertainment and dancing, dancing, dancing. Come join us and catch the rhythm!  Live tap performances by festival students, teachers and local tap professionals. Cash bar offers drinks and snacks.

Tap City puts ALL of our students on stage in a fun show of youth, teen and adult students. Tap dancers will perform for each other—on Broadway!--in an informal performance featuring the newly minted work from all of the Tap City Residencies from the Youth, Pre-Professional and Adult Programs. It’s a chance to see and be seen, with all performers sitting in the audience to watch the works of fellow students, amateurs and professionals from around the world. A few dancers, duets, trios, etc. will also be selected from video submissions. See Performance Opportunities or call for details. Hosted by our Education Program Faculty.
