In its commitment to diversity

the ATDF continues to administer the Gregory Hines Youth Scholarship Fund for serious tap students ages 4 – 19. Scholarships are awarded to students based on both financial need and artistic merit. The goal of the program is not only to offer training and performance opportunities to under-served youth, but also to encourage pre-professional level students to continue with their studies with on stage performing experience. The program seeks to bring together students from different socio-economic and racial backgrounds.

The Gregory Hines Youth Scholarship Fund

The American Tap Dance Foundation established the Gregory Hines Youth Scholarship Fund for serious tap students who wish to study in one of the following ATDF Programs:

Year-Round Youth Classes (ages 3 – 19)
Weekend Intensives & Workshops (ages 13 – 19)
Tap City – The New York City Tap Festival (ages 6 – 19 Youth or Pre-Professional Program)

Gregory Hines Youth Scholarships are available and awarded to students based on financial need and merit. The majority of the awards are partial scholarships covering between 10% to 50% of the tuition. A small number of larger scholarships are also awarded. The scholarship covers TUITION ONLY and does not cover the $40.00 registration fee or other expenses related to taking the classes.
