Gertrude's Nose was originally presented and premiered at DTW’s Bessie Schonberg Theater on Wednesday, June 26 - Saturday, June 29, 1996. It was billed as a tap dance oratorio… a sound scape for tap, vocalese and poetry. Created by Brenda Bufalino in collaboration with guest artist /jazz vocalist Jay Clayton, it featured dancers from the American Tap Dance Orchestra and others.
The evening is hosted by ATDF Artistic Director Tony Waag with an open discussion with Tap Master Brenda Bufalino and surprise guests directly following. Popcorn and refreshments will be served!
First Friday Films revisit tap dance productions from the past direct from the ATDF archives! Open to the general public. Proof of vaccination is required and masks are optional.
